$176 Million Jackpot The Powerball Lottery jackpot for Wednesday night, September 24th is up to an estimated $176 million after no one matched all six numbers for Saturday's drawing. That translates to a $89 million cash out option for a single winner. Saturday's results were; 6, 28, 30, 40, 47 and the Powerball number 24.

Although no player took home the grand prize on Wednesday, a Connecticut Great-Grandmother won a $1 million second prize by matching 5-of-6 numbers. Rose Marks of Bridgeport almost walked away because the line for tickets was too long. "My feet didn't move," said Mrs. Marks to Connecticut Lottery Officials.

Rose bought a $2 Powerball 
with PowerPlay ticket. The usual second prize winning amount is $200,000, but because she activated the PowerPlay option, and the multiplier for Saturday was 5, Rose will take home $1 million. She plans to share her good fortune with her children, and many grand and great-grandchildren.

In other multi-state lottery news; No one matched all six numbers in last night's Mega Ball Lottery drawing. Friday's drawing will be worth an estimated $24 million to a single winner. Tuesday's results were; 9, 32, 34, 43, 52 and the Mega Ball number 4.

Powerball Lottery drawings are held on Wednesday and Saturday nights and Mega Millions Lottery drawings are held on Tuesday and Friday nights.
