$56 Million It might not be the biggest jackpot of the year for the Mega Millions multi-state lottery, but it certainly is enough to make someone very happy. Tuesday's drawing could bring a lucky person $56 million.

Sure, there have been drawings this year for Mega Millions that have been upwards of $100 million, but that does not mean that $56 million cannot make someone experience a major lifestyle change.

Whether or not someone can get lucky enough to pick the right numbers is another story. The multi-state lotteries in particular have been very stingy
with their payouts. There is no rhyme or reason to the madness, but one thing is certain, the high payouts are drawing customers to buy tickets.

"I buy tickets whenever the jackpots reach over $50 million. Once it hits that number I feel it is worth the risk of losing. Under $50 million and I feel like I'm throwing money away. I know it's weird, but it's the truth," says Gary Druckenmiller, from Chicago, Illinois.

The next Mega Millions drawing will take place on Tuesday evening and will be followed by the Powerball drawing on Wednesday night. The Powerball jackpot is at $25 million.
