quadrupled their investment to $4.

The big jackpot will only help drive up the revenue collected from the Lottery, which this year returned a record $1.283 billion earned for education in the state, on sales of $4.174 billion, as of the fiscal year ended June 30th.

The Lottery also offers players the chance to increase their potential winnings; by purchasing a two-dollar ticket, the value of the jackpot increases by $10 million; by making the play a three-dollar one, the prize goes up by $25 million. Thus, a winner tonight could garner $50 million on a single $3 ticket.
