Lottery fever is sweeping Canada, as the Wednesday night jackpot grew toward becoming one of the largest lottery payoffs in Canadian history. Players vying for the $43 million prize were buying tickets for Lottery 6/49 in Ontario at the unheard-of rate of 3300 per minute.
The six numbers selected were 10, 18, 22, 26, 34, and 38. The bonus number was 39.
If no winners are found in this round, the jackpot will advance to Saturday's
Odds of winning are about 1 in 14 million.
Customers were so fervent about purchasing, outlets had a tough time keeping up with sales. Long lines waited at some venues for tickets to get printed.
