Sales Record In 2008
The economy has been a black cloud hanging over most state lottery's for the better part of this year. The Georgia Lottery, however, seems to have been immune to the struggling economy.

Today, the Georgia Lottery announced that they have broken sales records for the 2008 fiscal year. They had their highest sales in the fifteen year history of the lottery.

On June 30th, the 2008 fiscal year closed and sales were a whopping $3.52 billion. Last year, the state set a sales record that was over $97.6 million less that this year's figures.

"The Georgia Lottery Corporation
has a success formula that works and delivers results for Georgia's students and families. Lottery funded HOPE Scholarships and pre-K programs have made a fundamental difference in the lives of so many Georgians. Th transfer of our $10 billionth dollar to education is a tremendous accomplishment that we can all celebrate," said Lottery Corp. CEO Margaret DeFrancisco.

While other state lotteries are having to come up with all kind of marketing schemes to keep their figures from dropping, Georgia's is thriving. They have transferred over $10 billion to state educational programs in their fifteen year existence.
