Woman Sues Rapist
Woman Sues Rapist
A woman who was raped by a man who served years in prison for many rape convictions has won the right to sue the man. He has become a millionaire thanks to a winning lottery ticket he obtained while serving his sentence.

Lorworth Hoare back in 1988 attacked a woman whose name is still being withheld. He was convicted of rape and has served his time. While on day release back in 2004, he bought a lottery ticket.

It turns out that the ticket was a winning one, and the man won $14 million in the lottery. The statute of limitations expired six years after the rape
occurred for the woman to sue the man.

Now, the woman has won the right to sue. A British court has ruled to waive the statute of limitations and allow the woman to sue the man. It is not yet known whether she will win the suit, but at least she has won the right to try.

"After waiving the time limit and allowing Mrs. A to press ahead with her claims against Hoare, Mr. Justice Coulson said there should now be a speedy trial in her case," said the Yorkshire Post.

The woman is now seventy nine years old. Hoare is fifty nine, and has been spending much of the money he won under an assumed name.
