For a couple in Sacramento, California, it was an old beat up recliner chair that held the lucky ticket. Candy Tyree and her husband were getting ready to throw away an old recliner over the weekend.

In the process of preparing to throw the chair away, Tyree's husband Jim asked her if she had checked the Mega Millions lottery ticket he
had stashed in the chair a week before. She dug the ticket out of the chair, and went to the numbers to check the ticket.

When she checked the ticket, she found that her and her husband had won $249,050. "I'm good at throwing his stuff away before he's done," said Candy, while picking up their money at the Sacramento Lottery District Office.

The couple had planned on throwing the chair away, but after winning the lottery money, they may just reconsider that proposition. "It could be a lucky chair now," said Tyree.

They bought the winning ticket at the intersection of Main and Madison Avenues in Orangevale.
