$15 Million Tonight The Powerball Lottery jackpot was moving dangerously close to the $100 million mark until a ticket from Oklahoma had to go and ruin the fun. The lottery jackpot was hit on Tuesday at $85 million.
The ticket was sold at the Stripes store in Altus, Oklahoma. The winner must now decide whether to take payments, or to take one lump sum. If they chose the lump sum they will receive about $30 million after taxes.
The winner might have chosen to enjoy their Fourth of July weekend before coming forward and claiming their winnings.
Tonight the Powerball Lottery will resume its efforts to reach over the $100 million mark. The jackpot for tonight is only $15 million, but as gamblers have seen over the past year, these big jackpots can grow quickly.
The Mega Millions jackpot has been in triple digits twice already this year, although both times it was early in the year. The Powerball jackpot has gone over $100 million once.
The winning numbers from Tuesday's Powerball drawing were 4-33-46-48-52. The Powerball was 17.
