The United States is continuing their investigation into an illegal "Dominican lottery". Arrests have already been made in a series of raids, but authorities are continuing their efforts to get to the bottom of the operation.

The game is much like the Pick 3 game that is played in many U.S. states. Gamblers pick three numbers and if they matched the numbers picked in Santo Domingo in the Dominica Republic, they win.

The payout for the illegal operation
was similar to that of legal Pick 3 games. If a gambler buys a ticket for $1, they would win $600 if they matched all three numbers.

In the raids that occurred, police seized rubber band wrapped stacks of $20, $50, and $100 bills. The investigation has been going on since October by the Rockland Intelligence Center.

$370,302 was seized on Thursday at a house involved in the raids. Nine people were arrested. The operation is thought to have brought in $10 to $12 million annually.
