$42 Million Jackpot Now that the Powerball Lottery jackpot has come back down to Earth with a winner last week, the Mega Millions Lottery's grand prize is climbing. Friday night's Mega Millions jackpot is up to $42 million.

Although no one matched all six numbers in Tuesday's drawing to take home the big prize, there were some notable winners recorded. Five lucky players matched 5 numbers without the Mega number to win $250,000. Also, 19 winners will collect $10,000 by matching 4 out of 5 and the Mega number.

even the 10 grand would be a nice prize," said Janis Fergeson of Battle Creek, Michigan. "I could pay off some bills and go shopping for the kids. I wish I could win just once."

There are nine ways to win with the Mega Millions Lottery game, from $2 to the jackpot. If no one wins the jackpot, the money is added to the next drawing. Drawing are held every Tuesday and Friday. The odds of winning a prize is 1-in-40.

Tuesday's winning number results were; 9, 30, 35, 39, 49 and the Mega number 36.
